Q: Who takes care of my travel?
A: Camp Couture arranges the commute from the airport for the model or creative team member to their home away from home. The model or creative team member will be responsible for his or her own flight/train/bus to NYC.
Q: Who takes care of meals?
A: Models or creative team members will be responsible for some meals, however catered breakfast and/or lunches are provided during in-house workshop days.
Q: Where will I be staying while in NYC and will I have to pay?
A: The model or creative team member’s lodging is included in the cost of Camp Couture NYC. Model and creative team members share a luxury apartment with other participants. We arrange it in a “roommate” situation so they get a chance to feel they “live” in the city and not out of a hotel room.
Q: What if I don’t have a portfolio?
A: If the model or creative team member does not have a comp card or portfolio that’s one reason why they should attend Camp Couture. Photo shoots will take place during the week to help build portfolios.
Q: Will I receive placement or employment?
A: Camp Couture is the direct contact with a network of NYC agencies including Ford, Wilhemina, Elite, Next, etc. We facilitate meetings, introducing the model or creative team member. This will not typically be in the “open-call” setting. Agency|Affiliates from our network may want to sign you as a talent. As a model or creative team member you will be placed in direct contact with major fashion brands, salons, magazines, etc. however it is up to you to make an impression that will lead to employment.
